Info screen on 2013 Kia Optima PTS with EVO-ONE doesn't always turn on

+2 votes
Back on 3/11, I installed an EVO-ONE utilizing the OEM remote on a 2013 Kia Optima PTS. The customer had emailed me back everything was working as expected. I now just have received an email regarding his info screen does not always come on over this past week. One time also after key takeover, the screen didn't come on and the green key light came on, on the dash board. Seems to be an intermiitant thing. I'm not sure what firmware the unit has in it, as the customer lives quite a bit away from me, but do you have any ideas? Everything else has been working as intended, just the info screen doesn't always light up.

I'm wondering if this has anything to do with enabling unlock before start. Only reason I am saying that, is that on the Kia Forte, if you do not enable unlock before start, the side mirrors stay tucked in and don't open up after take-over. The vehicle basically does not allow full operation unless it was actually unlocked.

So you're saying, if its enabled, to disable it? Or vice versa? Its been way too long & too many cars ago for me to remember if that was enabled or not. But I understand what you're saying.
vice versa. If it's not enabled, then enable it. It's a long shot, but worth a try.

For now, I don't have any documented cases of something like this besides for the other post which turns out was a datalink issue between a bypass and remote starter... The EVO-ONE datalink is internal.

If the problem is intermittent, maybe it's something else? User operation? Dimmer switch being off?

Hopefully i'll have a better answer by tomorrow, or maybe Mathieu and Jesus(Rico) can chime in if they've seen it at any time.

Its been way too long & too many cars ago for me to remember if that was enabled or not.

This is a good reason to include the service # of the module with each post. Service numbers are automagically turned into links to view the module status.

Darren, i don't think he has the car with him at the moment. The install was done on march 11 lol. His client is long gone.

upon take over it stays off and typically wont come on again until the car sits shut off for a few minutes or more even when starting with pts.
