2006 Jeep commander and RS-00G5 and Evo all

+1 vote
I am going to put a Crimestoppers RS-00G5 Add on remote start in a 2006 Jeep commander. I bought an EVO-All module but I am starting to think this combo will not work. Cromestopppers suggested either a SL module or an Evo All module. But from what I read it is not programmed to work with a stand alone system without having to buy more items to program it. I have read a lot of info on Your web site and I am a little confused as to what needs to be connected to work. Hope this isn't too confusing. Thanks

The module will come with 4.18 out of the box. This firmware will work on your car simply wire it according to the guide for your truck using a remote starter and bypass module here : http://fortin.ca/download/9681/evo-all_chryslerdodgejeep_config2_d20130605.pdf

It is not programmed for stand alone correct.

However you are installing it with a remote starter so you arent installing it as a stand alone either.

Are you looking to start the car with your crimestopper remotes or your oem key fob by hitting 3x lock?

Thanks for the info Derek. Yes I am planning on using 3x with Her original OEM remote

Then our module is not set up for 3x lock to start. You require the flash link updater 2 (sold separately) to enable stand alone options as well as the correct firmware for your vehicle. The guide you will follow in this case will be this guide : http://fortin.ca/download/28831/evo-all_evochrt5_o20150216.pdf

Thanks again Derek. One more question about the same car. Does My  CHR-5 t harness allow Me to use data transfer or do I need a seperate Data transfer cable to eliminate connecting all the wires from the crimestoppers remote start to the Evo all? Thank You
datalink should work fine between evo and crimestopper. Connection D of the evo-chrt5 install guide is what you are looking for.

Make sure you have option C1 enabled in the evo so that it can detect the oem remotes and send it to the RS00. Also make sure that the appropriate option is enabled in the RS00 to actually detect the commands the evo will send it.

If you cannot enable C1 in the evo (flash-link required), the RS00 has a (-)start activation input that you can connect to the vehicles door lock motor signal. It's a negative trigger input and lock motors are typically positive signals, so some relay magic would be necessary. There's an option in the RSS settings to make it so 3 pulses on that start activation wire would start the car.
Thanks Robert
Is it possible to use the evo all for a stand alone starter to simplify the installation? After doing a lot of trying to interface My RS00G5 remote starter to the evo all it looks like I am trying to install something I dont even need. Looks like the Evo All will do everything without using the crimestoppers rs. Thank You

Yes the evo can remote start your car on its own using 3x lock on the oem remote.

Here is a link to the stand alone installation of the evo-all

You will need the flash link updater to do this as you will be required to set specific options and firmware as specified in the guide above.

Hi. I am using the EVO ALL module and to simplify the transducer connections I used the THAR_CHR5 t harness . I am installing it on a 2006 Jeep commander as a stand alone per Our earlier conversation. I used the EVO-CHRT5 guide and used connection C. The car remote starts but it does not lock the doors and it will start with the doors open. Also I have to hit the brake pedal twice to get a shutdown.. Where did I go wrong? Thank You
Door locks will not work correctly if you do not have the OEM remotes but the car initially came with oem remotes. The last step of programming asks to either press the lock button on the oem remote or the button on the EVO, this is where the evo sets itself to either use keyless codes or non keyless codes.

most vehicles will start with the door open.

It takes about 2 seconds for the brake command to be registered through can-bus. Press the brake once and wait about 2 seconds to see if the car shuts off while remote started.
