I have 3.4v going to brake wire when vehicle is switched on.

Evo One installed on 2005 Avalanche. I have 3.4v at the brake wire when the vehicle is switched to on position. This won't allow the module to start or program rf kit. Is there a resistor I can install on the brake wire to remedy this, or try to locate a different wire to splice into?

you can just disconnect the black wire from the white brake wire on the brake switch, and manually touch it to the positive 4 times while entering programming mode.

I've seen a lot problems with this model and frimware, please update how it worked with you.

Oh everything is programmed already and remote start and rf kit both work without the black wire connected. But when I reconnect the black wire to the white, and try to remote start. The module see's the 3.4v brake signal and stops powering powering up.

I forgot to mention It does have auto lights.

Thought about it, may have to wire in a relay on that wire.

You were both right, trace the brake circuit back to the aftermarket LED tail lamps, they were back feeding the voltage back though. Disconnected them voltage went away. Thanks for all the help.

If the vehicles brake wire has 3.4v then you have an issue with either the brake switch or the brake circuit (common in early 00 GM's).

 

Solution would be to have the vehicle repaired.
