manual shift remote start will not work

0 votes
i have an issue with getting the remote start portion of my evo-all to work with my crimestopper RS7-G5.

I had a thar-gm1, which i made into a v2, but still did not work.

I then removed the harness and followed the directions on guide 29071 instead. it yelded the same results.

the evo-all seemed to program correctly but i am not sure of what the options should be, can you help on that ?

Turn off the RF kit option since you are using an entire remote starter.

You have set AP/OFA datalink which is ok if you set the crimestopper unit to ADS protocol.

What's not working right now, have you programmed the remote ?

everything on the crimestopper seems to be functioning except the remote start part.  I just get the flashing LED from the crimestopper flashing 7 times at me which means that the manual shutdown procedure failed....

I have not looked at the LED lights on the evo-All when i try to remote start, should the lights do something ?

the remote? such as the remote for for the crimestopper, yes it is functioning.

I will have to look into changing these settings tomorrow

thanks for the help

The RS7 needs to see 4 things in order to start.  1. tach (data or hardwire red/white wire) needs to be programmed.  2. Ebrake (data or hardwire green) needs to be connected.  3.  Door status (data or hardwire pink) needs to be connected.  4. Shutdown sequence needs to be performed each time.  You also need to bypass the clutch.

Easiest way to troubleshoot is to start with automatic mode and make sure it starts in neutral w/clutch bypassed or foot on clutch.  Then from there you can activate the manual trans. mode with last door shutdown.  You should be able to pull the ebrake and remove the key.  the car will stay running (if it doesn't troubleshoot ebrake status), exit car and shut door.  The car should shut off (if not troubleshoot door status).

If all of those check out then you can change the manual trans mode to activate with remote or ebrake&remote if preferred.
