Car won't start after installing EVO-ALL - 2008 G35

+1 vote
Hi guys, I just installed the EVO ALL with T-Harness into a 2008 PTS Infiniti G35. It wouldn't start the car after installation so I reset the unit and reflashed and now the LEDs respond differently (blue flashes on unlock, red and yellow come on then red and blue if i recall). The car won't crank though. Any ideas?

I verified continuity to the brown wire on the start button. I'm at a loss. Thanks!

so i went back and apparently the 08 g35 isn't compatible with the lock lock lock feature but the literature didn't seem entirely clear that it wasn't so in the end I need to install the DSM300 telematics unit, which is fine since I have it sitting here already. The weird thing is that the blue light flashes when I lock the door so clearly the unit sees the door lock get pinged from the CANBUS. Does anyone know why the 3x lock doesn't it work?

Did you enable the 3x lock feature in the bypass settings? It is default off....also make sure OEM remote monitoring is on.

Looking  here (https://fortin.ca/en/features/3x_lock_remote_starter.html#infiniti) says your car is indeed compatible with the 3x lock to start feature from an OEM remote!

I'd bet you have OEM remote monitoring and/or the 3x lock feature disabled....

Nope, I just checked again it's enabled. Good idea though. I'm about to go out and reprogram the key. I did, stupidly, have the wrong wire attached to the push to start button but I fixed that, now the evo goes through a startup sequence and the dash comes on in the car but no crank. Really not sure what's the issue.
Is option D1 and D6 enabled? Have to click "configuration" then "unit options" to see these options.
Yes, I have D1 and D6 enabled. Im wondering if I just don't have a good connection at the PTS button.

I lied. D6 not enabled. Let me try now...
Enabled D6 and tried again. No luck :/

Just a follow up. I downgraded my firmware on rev and rerogrammed the key but still no luck. The dash on the car lights up and you can hear relays clicking but the engine just doesn't crank.

**edit** I didn't hook up the door pin sensor but i wouldn't think that matters.

door pin sensor is to turn off your headlights automatically....usually needed.
Right, I plan on hooking it up (although I don't use my lights in automatic) but I just mean for the purposes of starting the car I wouldn't think it matters.
in regards to starting the car, it does not matter.
That's what I figured. Thanks for helping. Hopefully I can resolve this issue shortly. The only non-harness connection is the PTS button and I used a wire tap but verified with a multimeter that I had continuity. This is certainly odd.

So I have a new twist. Swapped the relay connector from RL1 to RL2 and the car started like a champ. However, I cannot shut the car down using the 3x lock. Also, the screen on my stereo doesn't come on now. Thoughts?? Thanks in advance guys!

I still have to try the purple wire trick but I did have this happen to me a few more times. I open the door and the car dies. Really not sure why that would happen randomly. Any thoughts?

I did take a DVM and measure the EVO output when I was attempting to lock the doors using the telematics. The evo puts out a millivolt signal which i'm assuming is CANBUS signals but it doesn't lock the door when it's wired to the BCM pins.

Also, new issue, my rear defroster doesn't come on under 35 degrees like the website says, but I notice that now since i've installed the EVO i have to hit the defrost button twice to activate this. Is this part of the logic to let the evo turn it on?

Module didn't see the unlock signal. Which I will deem normal on this car since we have never listed this vehicle as being able to detect the oem remotes (even though this one seems to fine for starting). Make sure all doors are properly closed as it would affect the takeover procedure. Unlocking from the smartstart should always work and allow the vehicle to stay running when opening the door.

Which wires were you testing on the evo? The purple wires are inputs. The Green and White wires should be the ones outputing lock and unlock. Unlock typically requires a double pulse and should enable option B3 for that. Lock is a signal pulse.

As for the rear defrost. It is not an available feature on this vehicle. We cannot monitor nor enable this function.  https://fortin.ca/en/vehicles/infiniti/g35/2008-push-to-start/

Sorry for the delay, my work schedule has been quite busy. i'm using the green and white wires, as specified in the install instructions, but the evo just doesn't seem to be able to lock or unlock the car. I could have sworn I saw something that says the defroster works on this model but that's alright I suppose I misread.

I enabled the B3 option and didn't see any change but i'll poke around tomorrow when it's light out. Is there any listing that explains all the options available on the evo?

Here's a quick glance at options: http://fortin.ca/download/17363/16141.pdf

All feature descriptions can be found in the evo-all product page. Just click the icon of the feature you want to see and page will load with a brief description. http://fortin.ca/en/products/evo-series/evo-all/

Thanks! I probably should have looked for it earlier. I'll keep troubleshooting.
