OEM Remote problems using EVO ONE with T-Harness on 2015 Nissan Frontier SV Automatic with Factory Alarm

0 votes
I purchased an EVO ONE with a T-Harness for my 2015 Nissan Frontier SV with Automatic Transmission, Factory Alarm and Power Door Locks.  I had contacted Fortin by email prior to my purchase to ask what I needed to purchase in order to add Remote Start to my Vehicle in order to still be able to utilize my Factory Alarm with my Factory Keyfob.  I had been told to Purchase the EVO ONE with the T-Harness Nissan 2.  When I made the purchase, the place I purchased it from said that they programmed it for my application.  I installed the EVO ONE yesterday (March 29th) using the T-Harness and making the necessary connections.  I was using guide 17743, which had been recommeded to me by Fortin.  Upon completing the wiring, I was able to get the Key Bypass programmed with no issues.  However, when I tried to start it with the Factory Keyfob, it did not start.

So, I sent an email to the place that I purchased it from and explained the situation.  In their reply, they are stating that the EVO ONE Unit was programmed correctly, but that my vehicle does not support for OEM Remote 3-times-lock option.  They stated that I needed to purchase another remote, of which there are several options, or that I could send everything back for a refund.

Is this in fact correct?  If my vehicle is in fact supported for OEM Remote 3-times-lock, can you please indicate all fields that should have been progammed, so that I can send it back to them to reprogram.

I feel like that they are incorrect, as my original question to Fortin stated that I wanted to use my Factory Keyfobs and retain use of the factory alarm.

Thank you!!

I checked your original request and you must've wanted to ask if it would do 3xlock start but just forgot to ask,  here is a copy of your original information request.

Message:  I have a company truck. It is a 2015 Nissan Frontier SV Extended Cab. It is an automatic with the V6. It has the Factory Alarm System with power door locks. Will the EVO Combo work on this truck? If so, that means that if I purchased one, it would be the remote starter, data immobilizer and t-harness all in one kit, correct? How many wires would have to be connected, besides the "plug and play" of the t-harness? If the EVO Combo does not work for this truck, then would I need the EVO All? If so, would I need a separate remote start? Also, could I get a t-harness that works with it if I have to use the EVO All, instead of the EVO Combo? Thank you in advance for your time and attention to these questions.

Sincerely,

John Renner

And here is the reply you go, it answered all the questions you had asked.

For your vehicle, the EVO-ONE is compatible, you can purchase a t-harness (THAR-NIS2) which would simplify the installation, there are still 8 connections that need to be done.

You will also need a FLASHLINK-2 updater to program the proper firmware and options in the EVO-ONE.

You can look at guide number 17743 to see what connections need to be done.

Thank you.

For your vehicle, the Evo One does not support 3x lock start as noted on the website here http://fortin.ca/en/vehicles/nissan/frontier/2015/ , depending on where you are in the world the Evo One can be sold WITH or WITHOUT rf remotes and antenna included,

But there are also a wide variety of compatible RF kits available that would work with the EVO ONE can be found here: http://fortin.ca/en/technology/rf_kits.html so that would be the easiest solution in your case right now.

Thank you.
