2012 Hyundai Veloster with standard key programming

0 votes
Hi, I doing a remote start on a 2012 hyundai veloster that has a regulat key not a push to start. My plan is to use an evo-all with a crimestopper rs1-g5. Now there is no listing for a regular key install for the 2012, but there is for a 2015 and 2016. Now im wondering if it wil work using firmware 76.22 which is the minimum firmware for models with keys. Any tips or thoughts are appreciated, thank you.

Never saw this vehicle in standard key before 2015.... it should be the same but cannot guarantee.

If you are in the US, chances are the vehicle does not have immobilizer.

I would suggest comparing the vehicles wiring to the guide before doing any installation of wires and as mentioned by mathieu if you are in the U.S. chances are it does not have an immobilizer making it a very straight forward simple installation.

I hope it doesnt have an immobilizer because then that would save me and evo-all for another vehicle. But I called Hyundai Support and they told me that the vehicle manual says that the vehicle may have an anti-theft system in it. So if it does should I use the firmaware for the 2012 push to start model or the 2015 model with a key? I would asume the firmware for the 2015 model but I am curious about your thoughts on that.
The firmware for the key and pts models are the same, the module learns the vehicle via the CAN.

Anti-theft and immobilizer are 2 separate things, your vehicle can come with an anti-theft (oem alarm) and maybe no Immobilizer (chip in the key)

As stated before, the regular key 2012 veloster was never tested. each connection will need to be tested before any connections are made.
So come to find out the vehicle didnt have an immobilizer which was good news. Hooked up an rs1-g5 and and had to enable the unlock option of the single button remote after start becuase the oem key fob did funtion while the car was remote started. Thank you very much for the help.
