Just got finished hooking up an avital 5303i and the car will start just fine but it will not allow key take over for some reason, i have to hit the brake to shutdown and after a few seconds it will let me push in the knob to turn. any information you have would be helpful.

Hi Brandon,

That problem is directly related to the connections made to the (+)Tumbler Sense wire. Most common problem is that the Red/Blue of the EVO-ALL is not connected on the right side of the tumbler sense wire that you had to cut.

Go over all connections related to that Tumbler Sense.

the connections are right per the diagram, the r\b wire is hooked to the w\g wire going towards the plug on the car and the r\w wire is hooked into the cut wire going to the harness side of the car? i have it tapped into the w\g wire coming right off the evo and then used the w\g wire coming from the evo to hook up to the car but that shouldnt make a difference since theyre both supposed to hook up right?
could it maybe be a software issue? i swapped the wires around and it didnt even start at that point so im wondering if i mightve just gotten an old module that doesnt have the most up to date firmware?
