2011 Forester, RFW642 unlock button and remote confirmation

0 votes
I had the evo one installed with the RF642W kit. Remote starting seems to work fine. However the unlock/lock button on the RFW642 behaves strangly. When I unlock with with the RFW642, the unlocks 3 times. Similarly locking the with the lock button locks causes the car to unlock twice. I tried changing some of the settings but didn't have any luck.  OEM remote lock/unlock is fine.

Also, confirmation status on the RFW642 is not working. After sending an operation (lock, unlock, remote start), i get a red flash and a single beep. Same thing happens when i press [-] twice to get status, just a red flash a beep.

2 way operation is not working properly, could be remote problem or antenna problem. First thing would be to try with your second remote and see if you have same problem. Reprogramming the remote might also solve this issue.

Both remotes behaves the same. Does reprograming remote mean going through the proceedure to pair the remote?  i did that to one of the remote but the same result.
If you did try reprogramming, this sounds like a defective antenna or damaged antenna wire.
I did the erase starter programming and all learned remote process and then readded the remotes and that solved the problem with confirmation. Also fixed the multiple lock/unlock. I guess the remote must have been sending multiple lock/unlock to the car since it didn't get confirmation.  Could the programming did not fully complete the first time?
Odd issue, but yes when the 2way remote does not see confirmation it send the command 3 times. Glad to know this is solved.
