12 sonata pts various issues, programming?

+2 votes
I am installing an evoall in standalone mode on a 12 hyundai sonata pts. The unit programs fine. If I have "lock unlock lock" checked in settings, the unit will flash blue when hitting lock or unlock buttons, but wont actually try to start the vehicle, no leds lit, nothing" I called tech support and I couldnt completely understand but I understood it as set to lock, lock, lock, reset unit and reflash. I reset the unit, and checked no under "lock unlock lock"  The vehicle will start now, however it will start with one press of lock, therefore starting the car if you even try to lock the doors.

Also, I do not have the setting checked to shut the car down when the door opens, however the vehicle shuts down when the door is opened. I checked the keysense wire and I am getting ~5v that goes to 0 when the key is in the holder.  Is this just something to live with with evo-all in standalone mode or do I have an incorrect setting?

Thanks

Thanks for the service number but it's the wrong one :) The number is on the back of the EVO and starts with 001a0

Starting on 1xLock will happen with the latest firmware and we are aware of it. A change done for EURO vehicles caused this to happen on North American vehicles. If you go in the EVO-ALL udpates, scoll all the way down to firmware 0.26, the desciption says "fix Hyundai Kia 1x Lock".

If the vehicle also shuts down when the door is opened, it means it did not see unlock. Which makes perfect sense since the factory does not work while the vehicle is started and I assuming you had unlocked the doors via the key hole in the door. To put it in short, the EVO needs to be able to see an unlock command through CAN-BUS or a (-)signal on the purple/white wire from the 20-pin connector when you unlock. We shut down the vehicle if we do not see unlock as a security.

Thanks Robert. I just installed an rf kit so things are good. Might be helpful if you could note on current firmware that this is an issue.
The solution at the moment is to use 0.26 until a new recommended version comes out with the fix for 1x lock start. RF-KIT is also a very good solution, just make sure to turn OFF OEM remote monitoring if you did not change the firmware.

Door locks not working is not an issue but a factory feature for that car. It might be a good idea to add a note in the installation guide that if using the unit for 3xLock Start, take over is not available. Although it would be available with some extra wiring. Gotta love technology..
Yeah, I was aware that the factory remote was disabled while running, via the car, not the evo. All is well.
