2023 Mazda CX-50 doors won't always unlock after remote start

Question

When remote starting, sometimes the doors will not unlock (either by remote or by the keyless door handle entry). Trying to unlock via the remote just has the headlights flash but nothing happens. It's also inconsistent because sometimes it seems to work just fine and other times it won't.
