2013 Nissan Maxima EVO-NIST1 not working at all

0 votes
I bought the EVO-NIST1 remote starter harness which was supposed to come pre-programmed for my car.

I connected the connectors to key slot, brake and OBD II. The LEDs on the Fortin unit just constantly flash.

There is no way to do any 'programming' as the black 4pin connector doesn't connect to anything on the other end.

Am I doing something wrong? This should have been plug and play.

Thank you

Fortin does not pre load any modules. As stated on the website for your vehicle https://fortin.ca/en/vehicles/nissan/maxima/2013-push-to-start/, under "required accessories" Flash link updater is required to configure the module for the vehicle.

Also once configured using the flash link updater, you must program the module in the vehicle following the programming steps laid out in the installation guide: https://fortin.ca/download/84471/evo-all_ig_tsa_bi_nis-maxima_2009-2014_pts_a_84471.pdf

The black 4 pin connector without the clip is what supplies the unit with power and ground. The other black 4 pin connector and the white 4 pin connector on the harness are simply not used.
