EVO-ALL - DIESEL OPTION. Purpose?

Question

Just did an EVO in a 16 RAM diesel. Checked the "diesel" option out of curiosity. Seems to start just like any other vehicle would. I assumed there would be a delay.

 

What does the diesel option, when checked, do exactly?

On that specific truck, when diesel mode is enabled the evo checks the can circuit to look for the ok from the grid heater for the glow plugs. So in some cases it may not need a delay for instance when the truck is in a warm shop...
