Radio drop out?

+1 vote
EVO-ONE installed in a 2009 Lincoln MKZ in what I believe is called "stand alone" mode.  Everything works as expected, 3x lock starts the car although I find 4x tends to work better, maybe just need to get the timing down to trigger the start.

When the car has been remotely started and I enter the car, I put the key in the ignition, turn it to the run position, and then step on the brake pedal to allow the car to be put into gear.  When I step on the brake pedal the radio goes silent for about 2 or 3 seconds and returns.  Is this the normal and expected behavior?

The installation guide #17373 was followed, I found that I did have to deviate for two items, the EVO-ONE would not recognize the brake pedal press via the CAN buss so I hooked up A11 to the brake switch and cut the yellow wire loop (it is an automatic).  In addition I used the decryptor to program the system with a single key.

Thanks, J

Looking at your service numbe here http://fortin.ca/en/support/002B07034728/

Seems as though you flashed the remote start side of the evo-one with the bypass firmware.

Might be worth while re flashing both sides correctly and re programming the module in the vehicle.

I just reprogrammed the unit, same behavior, I also upgraded the firmeware to 1.18(?) while it was connected to the programmer.

I can hear the relays on the evo-one click several times when I step on the brake, I suspect the unit is sending another start command which is causing the raido to mute.

I can live with it but I wouldn't think it should do that.

The relays clicking (actually un-cliking) is actually the unit shutting off when pressing the brakes. If the radio is shutting down briefly at that moment, I would actually verify which position your key is in. There is no reason for the radio to drop momemtarily if the key is in the barrel in the Ignition/RUN possition. It's a mechanical contact. Unless the key is slipping to the crank position, which would sense since the radio does drop during crank.
I figured I'd respond, although almost a year later.

The relays are not simply not "un-clicking" I here they cycle several times, and I can positivly say that the key is not slipping into the crank position.

I doesn't do this behavior after every remote start cycle, maybe 1 out of 4 or 5.
